Festive can design with Christmas Roses

They can be found in every household and are solid with versatile uses: cans are a true multi-talent in the DIY arena. We have some lovely instructions for you on how to transform emptied cans into fancy flower pots for Christmas Roses in just a few steps. As always, we made sure the project is straightforward and requires only simple materials. If you do handicraft every now and then, you will have most of what you need at home anyway.

MATERIAL MATERIAL

Christmas Roses in 8 cm or 9 cm pots, empty cans in various sizes, white paint (waterproof, for brush or spray application), macramé cord (plain bast or parcel string or even woollen threads can be used just as well), craft cardboard (black or brown), paper (plain-coloured, with neutral or Christmas print), moss and cones for decoration, scissors, hot glue gun.
STEP 1 STEP 1

Paint or varnish the empty cans with white paint. You can of course take any colour you like. We chose white to echo the white colour of the flowers.
STEP 2 STEP 2

Cut stars both from the paper and craft cardboard, cutting the paper stars slightly smaller than the cardboard stars for a dark rim. Glue the delicate paper stars onto the stronger cardboard stars.
STEP 3 STEP 3

Use a drop of glue to attach the cardboard stars close to the middle of the outside of the tins and wrap some macramé cord around it. Tie the cord in a loop or a bow to give your creation a natural casual look.
STEP 4 STEP 4

A group, yet each piece unique: you want to have some variation when arranging the stars and strings. Cover any exposed growing medium with moss.
FINISHED! FINISHED!

Planted with a brilliant white Christmas Rose, this upcycling idea easily evokes the holiday spirit.
